Wren Update #1

Greetings, my fine feathered friend!

While working on this drawing, I can often hear the real wren singing outside my window.  He has the most beautiful song!  And how he flits around bobbing his tail is adorable.  He is a very endearing muse :)

Songbirds in Colored Pencil

Greetings, my fine feathered friend!

I usually work on multiple pieces at a time, and lately I have been doing some smaller 5x7 inch drawings.  My drawing table sits in front of my window so whenever I'm working I can watch our resident songbirds.  These three drawings feature some of our feathered visitors: American goldfinch, nuthatch, and wren.  The wren with his funny little tail-flicking movement and gorgeous voice has become my favorite songbird to watch, and I'm currently working on another wren drawing.

I decided to share several snapshots of my latest colored pencil creation since I have been remiss in posting regular updates.  Now all that's left is to figure out the background.

Bobcat finished!

Greetings, my fine feathered friend!

My bobcat is finally finished! :D  I'm really pleased with how he turned out.  I certainly learned a lot from working on this one.

Every time I finish an animal subject, I find myself having a deeper appreciation for God and His marvelous creations.

And thank you for your patience.  It has been a while since I've posted an update on my work.  My bobcat is getting closer to completion, and I am so excited! :D  I hope to have him done within the next week or so.
